  • A mobile app (AIMA Connect) to facilitate member engagement with features like directory, circulars, events, forums, polls, chat, and timeline.
  • Synchronization between the web backend and mobile app so updates on the website / CMS reflect in the app.

Overcoming Technical and Functional Challenges in Building a Unified Platform

During discovery, several challenges were identified:

  • Integrating membership-only features and secure content with public site content.
  • Building a reliable backend that serves both web and mobile app clients.
  • Ensuring that updates (events, news, member directory, circulars) are reflected in the app in real time or near real time.
  • Designing a mobile interface that is intuitive to members, with features like chat, polls, timeline, and forum.
  • Handling authentication and registration workflows — allowing only pre-approved members to register and access the app.
  • Ensuring privacy, data security, and permission management, especially for sensitive member information and chats.
  • Managing multiple content types (news, circulars, events, gallery, forum, polls) in a unified content management system (CMS).
  • Maintaining performance and reliability under load, especially during event announcements and push notification bursts.

Delivering a Unified Web and Mobile Experience for AIMA

To meet their objectives and overcome challenges, we delivered the following:

Unified Backend & CMS

  • Built a content management backend that supports multiple content modules: news, circulars, events, gallery, member directory, polls, and forum.
  • Implemented role-based access control to separate public content from member-only content.
  • Developed APIs to serve both the website frontend and the mobile app seamlessly.

Website Frontend (aimanashik.org)

  • Designed and developed a responsive, professional website reflecting AIMA’s identity and services.
  • Created sections for news, events, member directory, about us, contact, and gallery.
  • Developed public and member-specific pages, allowing members to access additional content after login.
  • Optimized SEO and usability for better performance and search visibility.

Mobile Application (AIMA Connect)

  • Developed the mobile app (AIMA Connect) for members with features like Member Directory, Circulars, Events listing & RSVP, Discussion Forum / Chat, Polls / Surveys, Gallery / Media, and Timeline / Activity Feed.
  • Implemented an authentication flow allowing only pre-approved members to register and log in.
  • Enabled synchronization of content updates from the backend to the app in real time.

Security & Data Management

  • Implemented secure user authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Applied strong data privacy practices, limiting sharing of personal data; the app declares no data shared with third parties (as per Google Play policies).
  • Ensured encryption in transit (HTTPS API calls) and secure storage practices.

Real-Time Updates & Notifications

  • Integrated push notifications for announcements, circulars, and event reminders.
  • Developed backend and API support for synchronizing new content such as news and circulars to users’ apps instantly.

Testing, Deployment & Support

  • Performed functional testing across all modules, including directory, chat, forum, and polls.
  • Verified compatibility across multiple Android devices and versions.
